Hex Editor
Edit packet bytes in hexadecimal in Intercept and Replay.
Hex Editor
The Hex tab is editable wherever you can change data before it is sent: the Intercept tab and the Replay compose area.
Where Hex is editable
| Place | Raw | Hex |
|---|---|---|
| Intercept (held packet) | editable | editable |
| Replay (payload to send) | editable | editable |
| Proxy History | read-only | read-only |
| Replay (received packets) | read-only | read-only |
History is a record of what happened, so it is never edited. To change and resend a packet, use Send to Replay.
Editing
The editable Hex tab shows plain space-separated bytes:
47 45 54 20 2f 20 48 54 54 50 2f 31 2e 31
- Type or paste hex digits; spaces and line breaks are ignored.
- Your change is applied to the packet as you type, and the Raw and extension tabs update to match. The tab you are typing in is left alone so your cursor does not jump.
- A half-typed byte (an odd number of digits) is ignored until you finish it.
On Forward (Intercept) or Send (Replay), the edited bytes are what go out. Binary data is preserved exactly; no bytes are changed by text encoding.
Large packets
Payloads over 64 KB are shown as a read-only hex dump (offset, bytes, ASCII) to keep the editor responsive. Use the Raw tab, or an extension, for those.
Read-only dump
In read-only places the Hex tab shows the classic dump with offsets and an ASCII column, which is better for reading than editing.
